Armstrong is gone Thursday and Friday...Mr. Herset is the sub...here is what I want you to accomplish.
1. Glue in NB's A. Map of the Pacific Theatre B. Cut out and leave space for the "Who's Who...organize in two sides of your paper...USA vs. JAPAN...see if you can identify these people as you go through the materials. We will ID them on Monday.
2. Go to the WWII links with the Chrome Books and dedicate a page in your NB for "Pearl Harbor"...go to link "Pearl Harbor Interactive Map"...and go through the site...listen and create a complete timeline of the attack...this is a National Geographic site that is pretty darn cool. Why did they do it? What were their objectives? To what extent was the attack a failure? a success? be ready to talk with me when I return...YOUR NOTES SHOULD BE THOROUGH!
3. When you are done with Pearl...go to the next link: "The Battle of the Coral Sea" interactive map and to the same thing...Dedicate a page in your NB...go through the map...create a specific timeline...make certain you can locate it on your map! 4. Recognize The Battle of Midway is a culmination of Japanese strategy that began with Pearl Harbor...what is the strategic significance of these areas in the Pacific for us and/or the Japanese? Why are aircraft carriers so vital???
5. Mr. Herset will hand out the reading assignment...It is upper level cool stuff!
