Today...Wednesday 2/24...we finished the Battle of Waterloo video...this was meant to be an introduction to the American Civil War and 19th Century military strategy and tactic...evident in the Battle of Gettysburg...our next focus!

We then started our Civil War entry in the NB...coloring, etc. 

Tomorrow I am gone to attend a funeral.  Mr. Wright will come in as a guest speaker and try and explain how the South will never die...and that the South never lost the Battle of Gettysburg!!!!

Today, Wednesday, 2/17, Block schedule...passed back Saratoga Interactive Map questions.  Watching short 10 minute excerpt from The Story of Us: depicting the battle as a turning point, weapons, and the death of Simon Fraser.  We then took notes on results and significance of the battle.

We also have your photos blown up to 11x17 size...if you do not have one...it is your responsibility to have everything ready by Friday!!!

Homework for tomorrow and Thursday:  Study your notes and maps...be ready to draw arrows, and label and describe the A. Overall objective of the the British during the 3 phases of the Revolutionary War B. Understand the Saratoga Campaign, and C. The Battle Freeman's Farm and The Battle of Bemis Heights.

THURSDAY:  I have Crome books ready...you are in your Red vs. Blue teams...we will have at it:  Goal...determine the course of events of A. Freeman's Farm and B. Bemis Heights...you can use your Interactive Maps...and we can have at it on the board!!!

FRIDAY:  QUIZZAM DAY...100 POINTS

20 Points = One-Pager for the battle in your NB's.
30 Points = Battle scene Selfie...with dialogue box...with specific/cool hashtag...as well as name and date of the battle...don't forget your rockin' face!!!  Color is key to the "coolness" of the poster.

50 Points = Quizzam

Matching...facts, people, strategies...I will have faces to recognize.
Maps: A.) 13 Colonies...strategies and phases  B.) The Saratoga Campaign  C.) The two battles that we discussed in clas.

Today teams shared their "Battle Plans" for The Battle of Bunker Hill...pretty sound strategies!  We then introduced the "Animated Map" and watched the actual battle unfold.

Tomorrow you will watch...and take notes on Sun Tzu's "The Art of War!"...there is a reading that accompanies the video...we will read it...and apply it to the battles ahead!
