YOU SHOULD BE ORGANIZING YOUR INFORMATION FOR YOUR ASSIGNED BATTLE...AND...COLLECTING NOTES AND FORMULATING QUESTIONS FOR THE OTHER 4 BATTLES...YOU WILL HAVE THIS TO TURN IN ON E-DAY!...TOMORROW IN LIBRARY WORKING ON ARGUMENTS/DISPLAYS

Sarartoga vs. Gettysburg vs. Meuse-Argonne vs. Midway vs. D-Day

WHICH BATTLE IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT IN AMERICAN HISTORY?

WHICH HAS THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON HUMAN HISTORY?

You have been put in BATTLE TEAMS.  Each team is responsible for organizing a POSTER Display that promotes your assigned battle as the most significant.

You will have two days of class to review, research, and organize a presentation depicting your battle’s place in history.  YOUR GOAL IS TO DEFEAT YOUR OPPONENT ON THE BRACKET…AND MOVE TO THE FINALS! 

Every student must have Notes and Questions prepared for the Tournament.  These notes include all five battles…context, history, details, generals, tactics… You must have at least 4 Questions ready to go that discredit your “opponents” … you want to think and prove how your Battle is more significant than every other Battle. This will be an individual grade turned in the day of the Exam…50 Points…

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

A.      Every Team will have a Poster/Display that Pin-Points the Battle…WHEN…and WHY it is significant…BIG…BOLD …BEAUTIFUL!!!... 50 POINTS

B.      Opening And Closing Statements…30 Seconds each…Lowest seed goes first.  The details of the battle need to be discussed by every member of the team…

C.      Participation points awarded for each player.

D.      Individual Notes and Questions will be turned in as a team…points will be added/deducted for individual deficiencies.

There will be 5 Rounds…10 Minutes Each…Seeds will be revealed on E-Day!!!!  You will not know your competition until then.  You will have 2 minutes to prepare before each round.

Single elimination

Finish Points – Champions of the World =  50 Points

                           2^nd Place = 40 Points

                           3^rd Place  = 30 Points

4^th Place  and 5^th Place Finishers= 20 Points (i.e. the Toilet Bowl)
